Well, here she is! My OC Airbender, Devah.
She will go along with an ATLA fanfic I have in planning. I kinda fell in love with her, so I decided to draw her.
The tale of the fall of the Air Nomads was passed around the tribe like a bad dream. For 110 years the Southern Nomads had recounted their darkest hours for their children and grandchildren. It was so deeply etched into their collective memories that the young could swear they had felt the Firebenders' flames themselves.
They cowered in the darkest recesses of the caves surrounding their once proud and serene temple They were forbidden from ever feeling the warmth of the sun's rays or communing with the playful air currents. They cowered and waited, vengeful and broken, for the day when they could rise again as a nation in the skies.
Name: Devah
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Element/Nation: Air (no Masters’ tattoo)
Height: 5’5”
Eyes: Silver/blue
Hair: light blonde, long and flowing, a small braid framing her face on the left side with feathers and beads woven into it
Devah is a young airbender living with the shattered remnants of the once prolific Air Nomads. Her ancestors fled the attack on the temples and found refuge in a huge cave complex near the Southern Air Temple. The elders fear the outside world, and so they have forbidden any of the tribe to venture near the cave entrances.
Because of this, they have forsaken most of the ways of the monks. They hunt the cave-dwelling creatures for food, being forced to abandon their vegetarian ways. The elders train young Airbenders the best they can without open skies, but rather than training them in the old evasive ways of Airbending, their methods are often ruthless and cruel, capitalizing on the darker side of their element.
Devah plays the part for the elders', yet she secretly resents them and undergoes training with her own great-grandmother, who teaches her what it really means to call herself an Air Nomad.
She is idealistic and passionate, and very, very stubborn. She is one of the tribe's best hunters, even though she refuses to use her element to do her killing like the other hunters.
